Rivets, railings, trusses...flowers Just a few miles south of your new rental home stands the Franklin-Orleans Bridge, considered among Chicago's most beautiful. Springing to life in 1920, this Trunnion Bscule (French for see-saw) is 62 feet wide with a 220-foot span that rises for passing boats. To this day the bridge retains its original railings, which have flowers etched into their panels. Back down the road a bit, you'll find that same high level of attention to detail, with newly rehabbed living spaces featuring hardwood floors; kitchens with cherry wood cabinets and new appliances, as well as individual climate control and internet.
