This fully furnished unit is in a historic structure located a couple of blocks above downtown Astoria. The building(s) is known as the "Chinese Triplex." It is the last remaining residential structure from Astoria's old Chinatown district. Constructed around 1860-1880, these three houses were pulled up the hill in the 1920's from 9th and Astor. The buildings were then connected together to form one structure. This top unit is the only apartment in town where you can live in three houses at once. There are steep painted wooden stairs going up to this large airy unit. The space is brightened and ventilated by two operable 4'x4' skylights. At the south end there's a large commercial style kitchen. The kitchen work zones have stainless steel prep tables with direct task lighting under the shelves. There are also plenty of outlets in close reach for any device. All the appliances have been recently updated and function well. All the floors are smooth hard surfaces making cleaning easy. The walls have a thick drywall painted white. The living room and bedroom ceilings are made from thick beveled edged paneling. The boards are then occasionally dotted with recessed lighting that are connected to dimmer switches. Around the windows and doors there are accents of naturally finished reclaimed Douglas fir. There are nice northern views looking over downtown and across the river which can be enjoyed while sitting in the living room or just hanging out in bed. For heating, there is a free standing gas powered stove placed in the center of the unit. This type of heat helps keep the unit very comfortable and cozy during the winter months. Both the bedroom and bathroom have additional electric wall heaters. The bedroom has an attached bathroom with a large walk-in shower, W/D, vintage sink, small closet, and toilet.
