Welcome to Herb N Zen Farm! My husband and I live in the main floor home. I tinker in our permaculture gardens throughout the year where I raise vegetables, dozens of different kinds of berries, fruits, goats, chickens, and bees. The entrance to the apartment is on the opposite side of the house from the entrance to the main home. Upon entering the apartment, you are instantly met by 14 foot tall vaulted ceilings and a full wall of south facing windows lighting up the home with natural light. There are two 8 foot wide, sliding glass doors that open onto a small south facing balcony. There is a hearty old barbecue on the balcony for your use as well as a hose bib and electricity for any plants you may wish to keep outside. The master bedroom has an adjustable queen Tempur-pedic bed, a walk-in closet with built-ins and a picture window that overlooks our mature cedar tree, and Jackson Park, giving the feel of being in a lovely treehouse! The second bedroom has a built-in desk with shelves and drawers. If you would like to use the room for something other than a bedroom, you can move the queen bed to our storage unit under the house at your expense. Any bedding or other items which you don't need can be stored under the house as well. There is a storage unit for the apartment located in the attic space. You can utilize the space using a pulldown ladder in the hallway. Laundry is located behind a pair of French doors in the hall and features a full size Speed Queen, washer and dryer. The bathroom has a Bain Ultra air tub with dozens of jets to ease away the stress at the end of your day. You are welcome to use our Finnish sauna in the backyard once or twice a month. The apartment has a furnace, a heat pump with air conditioning and a wood-burning fireplace with a built-in fan. There are cadet heaters in the bathroom and master to give a little instant warmth before bed on chilly nights. They are in addition to the furnace. The kitchen has a gas range, full size refrigerator, dish washer and is fully stocked with everything you need for daily use. A well behaved dog is welcome with a refundable deposit. The dog would need to be monitored when outside in the yard to make sure it doesnt bother the livestock, the gardens or the house dogs. You can easily take the dog next door to Jackson Park for exercise! Our two year old standard poodle is exuberant and will bark and jump when people come to the house. Our 14 year old boxer mix is losing her sight and hearing and can be crotchety at times. It is a two or three block walk to Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital, the Hood River Fire Department, our year-round public swimming pool, outdoor tennis courts, baseball field, and middle school track, Farm Stand Organic Market and Deli, a couple of yoga, studios, a cider house, Volcanic Bottle Shop and a number of restaurants. Its a 12 block walk into downtown Hood River. A Zoom or Facebook tour of the home can be scheduled. Maximum six month lease. There is no cigarette smoking anywhere on the property. Owner covers water, sewer, basic garbage service and first $100 of electric. Any additional garbage or excessive electric is the responsibility of the renter. There is no TV in the unit. High speed Internet may be negotiated with the owner. Ample street parking is available. A well behaved dog is possible with a $250 refundable deposit. The dog must respect the farm animals, house dogs and gardens. You will be expected to watch your dog when they are outside and clean up after them. The dog must be kenneled when alone in the apartment. Quiet hours from 9:00pm until 7:00am No events may be held on the property by the renter Renter's belongings are to be kept inside the apartment. The balcony and stairs are to be kept neat and uncluttered. Overnight guests may stay a maximum of three nights
