Open House on Saturday, 11 AM to 1 PM, October 21 Our apartment is on the first floor (about ten feet above the ground, up a short stairway). We have four apartments in the building. In August of 2023, we rented out two other apartments within the first week of our listing them. In other words, our apartments are popular and "priced below market," we have heard. Our unique Victorian-era building was built 130 years ago yet has been fully modernized, combining old-world charm with today's technologies and comforts. The property, inside and outside, is well maintained, complete with both towering cacti and lots of little amenities like our barbecue and bike shed. Furnished or Unfurnished Options You can choose if you want your apartment furnished (with our existing, nice furniture and furnishings) or unfurnished (empty and ready for your furniture). Or you can mix and match (choose what is best for you). There is no additional fee for using our furniture. Apartment Amenities - Master bedroom (and optional king bed) - Living room (could be a second bedroom) - Gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances and two walls of cabinets - Luxurious bathroom with shower, custom tile and bench (no bathtub) - A "bonus" room that can be used as an office, large walk-in closet, or even small bedroom (no windows, though) - Two separate entrances (front hallway and rear parking lot, for each apartment) - Lots of storage inside apartment (and additional storage outside your apartment for a fee) - 11 foot ceilings and ceiling fans Common-Area (Shared) Amenities - Inside the building: on-site laundry - Outside, on the property's grounds, gated parking (behind building), barbecue grill and patio, sundeck upstairs, fruit trees, many cacti, bike shed, solar electricity on roof Location - Our property is downtown; within 5-10 minutes, you can walk to San Jose's bar and restaurant "SoFa" area, convention center, tech museum, SJSU - By car you need just one minute to reach 280 and 87 (a few minutes to 101, Caltrain, VTA light rail, and SJSU) Photos The photos shown with this Zillow listing show the apartment when furnished (it was used as an Airbnb rental, so it was completely customized for the most finicky guests). The current tenant has use some of his own furniture, and some of the landlord's furniture. The larger living room is not shown but it has two large windows and a closet. Other notes The property has these additional features: - gated parking, accessible through remote control - surveillance cameras around property's exterior - solar panels on roof (building is "greener" than most Rent and Deposit Rent is $2,350/month for the first two months ($100 discount incentive for first two months). $2,450/month starting on the third month, one-year lease minimum. Deposit: $4,000 When signing the lease, you must pay $4,000 (deposit) plus $2,350 (first month's rent), plus the fees for services that you elect (see below) Services - Who Pays What? Landlord pays for water and trash/recycling. Tenant pays for $100/month for gas and electricity. Optional services: onsite parking ($50/month, one car only - street parking is free with permit); laundry ($25/month for each adult); WiFi/Internet access ($35/month); extra storage outside ($25/month). Apartment is furnished with elegant furniture but can be rented without furniture. Restrictions No smoking on property; no pets.
