Our house will become available 1/1/2024 and be available through 5/15/2024. The lease would cover whatever period you desire and must be for at least 3 months. Welcome to our house. It's our haven. Once you enter the house, you feel transported and inspired. It's a place quiet enough to focus on reading or writing, yet it's only two blocks from Whole Foods, two coffee shops, two bakeries, a wine shop, ice cream shop, several eateries and gift shop. You won't need a car to go anywhere as it's only two blocks from a major transit corridor and a bikeshare station. You can also walk ten blocks to a carshare vehicle if you want to go hiking or skiing in the high country. In ten minutes you can be on the famous Pearl Street Mall and from the mall, walk another fifteen minutes to the University of Colorado quad. Our house is at once, spacious and cabin-like. Built in 1938 as a mill (we don't know of what) the old part is stone with an addition from the 1960's in front. We've done many updates, but the house does have some quirks. For example, it's not spacious in the closet department and the street can be a little busy especially during the school year with drop off/ pickup at the middle school four blocks away. We've never needed a clothes dryer in the bright Colorado sun and we have no microwave. We do make all our own meals daily, so the kitchen can well accommodate home cooking. The refrigerator has no ice maker, but, heck, who puts ice in red wine? Kidding aside, there are a couple of ice trays in the freezer. We also do not have air-conditioning. However, the rental period should not require it. We do have fans if necessary. If your work can be remote, the second bedroom is also a highly functional two-station home office. We're looking for one, two or small family of three very responsible people looking for a comfortable place to retreat to at the end of each day. Owner pays utilities which includes wifi, gas, electric and trash. No smoking allowed. Woodstove is not available, it's simply too quirky. We're looking to rent for at least three months between January and May. Tenants are responsible for watering our plants, doing own laundry (no dryer available), taking out the trash and recycling and keeping the house clean. Parking is on the street. Tenant fee for anything damaged or broken. Late fee of $50/day, rent due on first day of each month. Rent would be pro-rated if rental period covers a partial month.
