Spend the holiday's on the Maine coast in your new saltbox cottage on Willard Beach! Flexible move-in, move-out dates. Will entertain different lease lengths. Pets allowed. This 888 square foot cottage was originally built in 1909 as a ticket station for the trolley that took beachgoers to Willard Beach. It has since transformed into a lovely 2 bedroom cottage just steps from the beach. About the cottage: The 888 square foot cottage is just two houses from the entrance to Willard Beach. It boasts 2 bedrooms or a bedroom and an office, an open living room, a kitchen, bathroom and spacious basement with a NEW washer and dryer. We have recently replaced all the ceilings and floors, repainted all the walls and updated the bathroom with a new vanity and storage, just little things to make the property more comfortable. The cottage stays very cozy in the Winter and breezy in the Summer with the winds off the water. We've also observed that the cottage gets a lot of light due to it's proximity to the beach and a lack of established forest nearby. About the neighborhood: Willard Beach is coveted among locals and it's quite rare to find a home or rental in the area. It's a tight-knit community where people genuinely look out for one another and get together every first Friday for wine and conversation. A mixed community of young families and retirees, you'll never be short on human interaction in the enclave by the sea. Willard Beach boasts several wonderful bakeries, restaurants and bars, all within walking distance. Scratch Bakery, consistently rated among the best bagel makers in the country, is just a block away (read: dangerous), as is Scoops Ice Cream, David's Restaurant, Le Luco restaurant, Terra Cotta Pasta Company, Elsmere BBQ, A&C Soda Shop, The Cookie Jar and so much more. We're also a quick car ride or a 10-minute walk to the Cape Elizabeth Rosemont, perfect for those forgotten last minute dinner ingredients or a bottle of wine. About us: We live locally, just a town over in Cape Elizabeth, and are always available for help or repairs. We are very familiar with the landlords-who-don't-fix-anything scenario and as a result are very prompt in assisting you with any needs. We miss the beach dearly and would still live there were it not for our expanding family. Baby on the way and due in Feb 2024! We are renting this property unfurnished. Ideal rental term is 12 - 18 months but we're flexible based on need. Renter pays utilities and is responsible for snow removal. Owner is responsible for all garden and lawn maintenance. Pets are permitted. It's a VERY pet friendly neighborhood.
